Amite Hasan has been in excellent form in domestic cricket • BCB
Bangladesh have brought in Amite Hasan as replacement for Mominul Haque for the second Test against West Indies. It was the only change in the squad that lost to the visitors by eight wickets in the first Test in Dhaka.
Mominul suffered a head injury during West Indies' first innings after he fell face first with a helmet on while attempting to take Joshua Bishop's catch at short leg. He was taken off the field immediately, and Jaker Ali batted in his place as his concussion substitute. According to ICC's concussion guidelines, a player diagnosed with a concussion must observe a mandatory minimum of seven calendar days away from play before returning to the field.
Amite, 25, is one of the most prolific scorers in domestic cricket. He recently struck his third first-class double-century, an unbeaten 201 for Sylhet Division against Khulna Division in an NCL match in Cox's Bazar. He averages 79 in the five NCL matches this season.
He made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in July this year, playing as a wicketkeeper.
Senior batter Mushfiqur Rahim is still in the squad despite missing the first Test with a finger injury. He has reportedly recovered sufficiently.
The second Test starts in Sylhet on November 5.
