The World Championship of Legends (WCL) is a T20 tournament for retired international cricketers, first held in 2024 and staged annually since. Season 3 of the tournament ran from October 3 to October 14 for the league stage, with matches hosted at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
Seven national teams took part in the round-robin league stage across 21 matches. The top four sides have qualified for the semi-finals on October 16, with the final scheduled for October 18, 2026. Three batters stood out with the bat during the league stage, and we count them down from three to one.
Here are the top 3 run-getters of WCL 2026 after league stage:
3. D'Arcy Short (Australia Champions)
D'Arcy Short scored 225 runs in five innings for Australia Champions during the WCL 2026 league stage, averaging 45.00 at a strike rate of 234.38. He struck 16 fours and 22 sixes across those five matches, with his 22 sixes being the highest tally among the three batters featured here.
Short's explosive hitting made him one of the most destructive openers in the tournament. Australia Champions will now face West Indies Champions in the second semi-final at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 16, and Short will be expected to carry his form into the knockouts.
2. AB de Villiers (South Africa Champions)
AB de Villiers accumulated 237 runs in just four innings for South Africa Champions, finishing the league stage with an average of 79.00 and a strike rate of 211.61. He scored one century and two half-centuries during the league stage, hitting 14 fours and 20 sixes in total.
His century against Australia Champions was the standout knock of the tournament so far. De Villiers struck 111 runs off just 40 balls in that match, which remains the highest individual score and the only century recorded in WCL 2026 to date. South Africa Champions will meet England Champions in the first semi-final on October 16 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
1. Jean-Paul Duminy (South Africa Champions)
Jean-Paul Duminy is the leading run-scorer of WCL 2026 after the league stage. The South African all-rounder amassed 258 runs in four innings at an average of 129.00 and a strike rate of 174.32, finishing well clear of the rest of the field.
Duminy's consistency across four matches for South Africa Champions was a key factor in his side reaching the semi-finals. He will line up alongside De Villiers when the South Africans take on England Champions on October 16 in the penultimate clash, with both batters in strong form heading into the knockout stage.
