Joburg Super Kings have announced former South Africa fast bowler Allan Donald as their bowling coach for SA20 2027. He will work with Albie Morkel, who was promoted to head coach of the franchise after they parted ways with Stephen Fleming.

Donald will replace Eric Simons, who will now join Stephen Fleming's backroom staff in England. Donald has accumulated a wealth of coaching experience since retiring from the game in 2004, having worked with Sri Lanka and New Zealand, apart from South Africa and Bangladesh, at the international level as well as Warwickshire, Kent, the Mountaineers, Pune Warriors India and Royal Challengers Bangalore among other teams.

Former wicketkeeper-batter Pierre de Bruyn will join JSK as their new fielding coach, reuniting with Morkel. The pair has previously worked together at Titans and Namibia.

Evan Speechly, meanwhile, will replace Tommy Simsek as the new physiotherapist.

During the SA20 auction recently, JSK got back their former captain Faf du Plessis back for R 2.7 million and splurged R 2.9 million on uncapped allrounder Jason Rowles.

The fifth season of the SA20 will begin on January 17, 2027 in Gqeberha and end with the final on February 21 in Cape Town. The season opener at St George's Park will be a rematch of the 2026 season's final between SEC and PC.
