The left-handed opener's explosive knock helped India reach the 100-run mark in just five overs, setting a new national record for the fastest team hundred in T20I cricket.

India's effort ranks second on the all-time list of fastest team hundreds in T20Is, where ball-by-ball data is available. Only Eswatini has reached the milestone quicker, crossing 100 in 4.5 overs against Mozambique in Malkerns in 2026.
