The Hnry Stadium in Wellington hosts the third and decisive T20I between India and New Zealand on Tuesday, October 27. The series has been shaped significantly by the batters, and while the bowlers have not had much of a say, here are three names who have a chance to affect the outcome of the contest.
New Zealand's spin pairing has been India's biggest headache across the first two games, while Arshdeep Singh remains India's most likely wicket-taker with the new ball. Conditions at Wellington, with its wind and the possibility of overhead cloud cover, could further assist bowlers on both sides.
Here are 3 bowlers to watch out for in NZ vs IND, 3rd T20I:
1. Mitchell Santner
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has been the most productive bowler of the series, collecting six wickets across the opening two T20Is at an economy rate of 7.50. His second T20I return of 4 for 21 was particularly damaging, and he has repeatedly unsettled India's middle order throughout the contest.
Together with Michael Bracewell, Santner has been part of a spin combination that has taken eight wickets in 16 overs, conceding 132 runs across the first two matches. India's vulnerability against finger spin has grown sharper in 2026, and Santner has proven himself to be a key wicket-taker for the side.
2. Michael Bracewell
Michael Bracewell's figures of 0 for 35 from four overs in the second T20I do not fully reflect his contribution to New Zealand's bowling effort. He has been a steady presence in controlling the tempo of India's innings, and the Santner-Bracewell combination has collectively produced eight wickets across the series.
His off-spin operates from a contrasting angle to Santner's left-arm deliveries, ensuring India's batters cannot settle into a rhythm against a single spin type. With Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson both unavailable for the series, New Zealand's attack leans more heavily on Bracewell to bowl through the pressure overs. His ability to build dot-ball pressure could push India's aggressive batters into errors.
3. Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh carries the primary wicket-taking responsibility for India in Wellington. His left-arm angle, which takes the ball away from right-handers or brings it back in, makes him a genuine threat against New Zealand's top-order trio of Finn Allen, Tim Seifert and Daryl Mitchell. He arrived at this series as India's lead seamer in the T20I side, in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. He has taken three wickets in the four match
India's other senior seamer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, has endured a difficult series, conceding 99 runs for just one wicket across eight overs, which places additional responsibility on Arshdeep. Wellington's breezy conditions and potential cloud cover are expected to offer seam movement, especially in the powerplay, giving Arshdeep a favourable environment to trouble the New Zealand openers early in the innings.
